Richie Wellens, Leyton Orient’s manager, lauded Leeds United loanee Sonny Perkins for his performance against Bristol Rovers on New Year’s Day.
Wellens gave Perkins his first league start since the 14th December game against Burton Albion, and he delivered a superb performance.
The Leeds United loanee assisted two goals as Leyton Orient defeated Bristol Rovers 3-2 away in League One.
Wellens praised Perkins‘ play against the Gas, calling it brilliant, and noted that the Leeds attacker contributed to all three goals for the O’s.
“I think Sonny Perkins’ appearance today has been excellent,” Wellens told Leyton Orient TV.
“He has made all three goals, so he was excellent.”
Perkins has played 26 games for Leyton Orient this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
The Leeds United loanee has yet to establish himself as a regular starter for the League One club, and he will be hoping Wellens will have faith in him for their next game against Shrewsbury Town this weekend.
