Leeds United’s promotion bid is poised to receive a significant boost, with the Whites coming in first

A significant boost for Leeds United is predicted, as well as a major Whites ‘first’.

Following Saturday’s victory over Cardiff City, Leeds United‘s promotion hopes are likely to receive a significant boost.

Daniel Farke‘s side went into the weekend’s game against Cardiff in ninth place in the table after suffering their first league defeat of the season, a 1-0 loss at home to Burnley.

Leeds, on the other hand, rebounded with a 2-0 win at Cardiff, moving them up to sixth place, and the bookmakers expect another three-point haul from the Whites next weekend, regardless of the opposition.

Farke‘s side now has a full week off before their next match, which is a Saturday lunchtime visit from Coventry City, who claimed four points from Leeds last season with a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in December and a 2-1 success at CBS in April.

Mark Robins‘ team, who were beaten in the 2023 play-offs, finished ninth last season, and the Sky Blues are among the favourites for promotion in 2024-25.

Leeds, on the other hand, are odds-on favourites with every bookmaker to record a notable first win against Coventry under Farke, which might propel them up to third place depending on the weekend’s other events.

Despite Coventry being in the upper echelons of the promotion race, Leeds are no better than 6-10 for next weekend’s Elland Road clash and as low as 1-2. Coventry can be backed at 9-2, with the draw available at 7-2.
