Since, it seems, before Marcelo Bielsa took over, Leeds United has been the closest to having a fully fit squad.
Stuart Dallas is the only long-term absentee for Swansea City, according to Daniel Farke‘s pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon.
Following his recovery from knee ligament damage, Djed Spence may finally be included in a matchday squad for the first time since early September, according to the injury update.
Despite having only had a few training sessions under his belt, Farke did not include him in the Rotherham United squad, but on Tuesday he talked about how impressed he has been with him at Thorp Arch.
Although it is improbable that Spence will return to the starting lineup right away, being placed on the bench is a big step towards being fully fit again.
With Spence in the lineup, Leeds will advance.
Spence, who has obviously sought to strengthen the right-back position since his appointment, could give Farke’s team the final piece in the jigsaw.
Archie Gray has performed admirably in taking Luke Ayling‘s place as he has fallen out of favour in recent weeks.
But neither has the speed or attacking prowess to match Spence‘s abilities, so he will give Leeds a whole new dimension at both ends of the pitch.
In the Championship, Leeds is frequently tasked with breaching strong defensive lines. As a result, Spence can excel in situations where players like Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, and others are double marked.
December is going to be a very busy month for fixtures, so Leeds could not be welcoming back Spence at a better time of year.
