Leeds United want to sign Genk forward Joseph Paintsil.
That is according to Sky Sports, who reported earlier this evening in their live blog. Painstil is one of the forwards under consideration by Leeds.
According to the article, Genk could accept bids in the range of £8.5 million, with Southampton also connected with a move last week.
Leeds are still looking for attacking reinforcements, although Paintsil is much more at ease playing off the right wing.
Given Leeds‘ plethora of choices, it is probable that one or both of Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto will be on their way out in order to solidify interest in Paintsil.
Leeds is interested in Genk’s Paintsil.
However, based on his statistics at Genk last season, Paintsil would be a huge coup for Leeds in the Championship.
In just 30 league appearances in 2022/23, he scored 14 goals and gave 14 assists as Genk narrowly lost out on the title by one point.
Paintsil is predominantly a right-footed player who has represented Ghana on nine times.
Daniel Farke‘s side is in desperate need of some extra creativity, and Painstil would undoubtedly give that, as well as an extra goal threat.
This appears to be one to keep an eye on as the window nears its end.
