Leeds wants an ‘unbelievable’ player capable of scoring ‘beautiful’ goals – Pablo Hernandez.

Leeds United are apparently interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who is said to have a falling out with Steve Cooper – and Pablo Hernandez is a fan.

Shelvey, 31, has only been with Forest since January. He has subsequently appeared eight times for the Premier League club, and the six-time England international has been left out of the matchday squad for Forest‘s two games.

He’ll be at the City Ground until the summer of 2025. However, TeamTalk reports that Forest is willing to go after a falling out with his employer Cooper. He has undoubtedly slipped down the Forest pecking order.

According to the report, Leeds is interested in signing Shelvey, and Forest are willing to sell. It is uncertain how much Forest will ask for him, and it is possible that Leeds would sign him on loan.

Shelvey was a young but talented Premier League midfielder for Swansea in 2014, playing alongside none other than Leeds legend Hernandez. After defeating Villa, the Spaniard was impressed.

Jonjo has scored some stunning goals. His goal against Liverpool was impressive, but I believe today’s goal was the finest of the Premier League season. Unbelievable, crucial goal when Villa were in command of the game.”

Leeds United are interested in signing Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Leeds require midfielders, but do we require Shelvey? After losing Tyler Adams, Adam Forshaw, Weston McKennie, and Marc Roca this summer, the Whites must bring in replacements. In comes Ethan Ampadu.

Archie Grey and Darko Gyabi have been promoted, while Jamie Shackleton and Lew Bate have risen through the ranks. But Leeds must have one or two players. Glen Kamara is a possible target.

So Leeds does require personnel. However, signing Shelvey would be a huge mistake. A player who has passed his prime and is no longer capable of doing what Hernandez so eloquently describes. One to keep an eye on, hopefully.
