When Leeds United hosts West Bromwich Albion on Friday, they will be searching for their first win of the season.
Daniel Farke‘s team were defeated 1-0 at Birmingham City last time out and have had a difficult five days since then, with no fresh arrivals and the futures of Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra also uncertain.
Leeds‘ squad, on the other hand, will undoubtedly appear stronger for the game against West Brom than it did at St. Andrews.
Georginio Rutter and new recruit Joe Rodon have both completed a full week of training, while Sam Greenwood is also back in contention.
So, with that in mind, here’s how Leeds might queue at Elland Road.
Goalkeeper
Illan Meslier is poised to keep his place as Leeds’ starting custodian ahead of summer recruit Karl Darlow, who has only appeared in the Carabao Cup since joining from Newcastle United.
Farke will have to make a decision at right-back after two dismal performances from Luke Ayling, and Cody Drameh should start, with Sam Byram on the opposite wing.
Charlie Cresswell performed admirably against Birmingham last time out, but Rodon should get his debut alongside Pascal Struijk.
Midfield
Ethan Ampadu and Archie Grey have both started all three of Leeds’ matches this season in all competitions and are likely to do so again.
Leeds‘ assault was impotent in the defeat at Birmingham, but Farke still doesn’t have a lot of options with Sinisterra, Gnonto, and Crysencio Summerville still out.
However, there is no doubt that Rutter should lead from the start, with Joe Gelhardt given another chance just behind.
Jamie Shackleton was ineffective on the right wing and should be benched, with Ian Poveda and Daniel James on either flank.
Meslier; Drameh, Rodon, Struijk, Byram; Ampadu, Grey; Poveda, Gelhardt, James; Rutter are the predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1).
