Levy and Ange are considering a low-cost move to sign a “spectacular” player for the Spurs.

The agreement would undoubtedly benefit the Lilywhites…

It’s fair to say that Ange Postecoglou has given new life to Tottenham Hotspur, who had become a stagnant side after a wasteful few years under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte. Daniel Levy appears to have gotten a good appointment in the form of the Australian and has been rewarded for it ever since.

The former Celtic manager has one of the most exciting and young squads in the Premier League, but add some experience and the Lilywhites could finally end their trophy drought. That’s where one specific player could come in.

Toni Kroos

Tottenham Hotspur transfer news

Spurs did well to welcome the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven after losing Harry Kane in the summer, and both have started well in North London. Maddison has been particularly impressive and managed to maintain his good form in Spurs‘ most recent victory over Crystal Palace. Postecoglou’s team won 2-1 thanks to goals from Heung-min Son and good work from Maddison that resulted in an own goal.

To put their rapid start this season into perspective, Spurs are unbeaten after 10 games and two points ahead of north London rivals Arsenal. Things could improve even more if they meet their reported transfer target.

According to Phil Thomas of The Sun, the Spurs are considering a move for Toni Kroos, who could be available for a low fee as early as January. The Real Madrid midfielder is set to leave the La Liga giants next summer when his contract expires, with Tottenham the most likely destination among the Premier League clubs interested. As a result, he would be a free agent and potentially the bargain of the summer for Spurs or other Premier League clubs. Even at 34, Kroos may have one more big move ahead of him.

Toni Kroos’s Reasons for Leaving Real Madrid

Kroos will be remembered as a Real Madrid legend, that much is certain. But, with Jude Bellingham stealing the show and Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, and Aurelien Tchoameni breaking through, the former Bayern Munich man is struggling to find a regular starting spot. After such a successful period together, it appears that the time has come for a new era for both Kroos and the Spanish giants.

Kroos‘ statistics show that, even at 34, he is still very capable. When compared to the current options in Postecoglou’s midfield, the 34-year-old stands out and has the potential to be a game-changer if Spurs sign him on a free transfer next summer.

Kroos has received deserved praise throughout his illustrious career, including from former manager and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane, who told Real France: “Toni Kroos will be remembered as a spectacular player, one of the best in the world in his position.” When I arrived, you can imagine how excited I was to be his coach.”
