Liverpool Injury News: The forward has been an ever-present for Liverpool over the last few months.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Darwin Nunez has been pulled from Uruguay’s international squad owing to ‘physical difficulties’.
Marcelo Bielsa called Nunez up for their forthcoming friendlies against Basque Country and the Ivory Coast, and he will allegedly stay in Liverpool during the international break to recover from a demanding fixture schedule.
Romano disclosed on X that Darwin Núñez will not be part of Uruguay’s forthcoming games owing to physical difficulties. I understand he has no significant injuries, but Darwin has already suffered troubles in the last week and will heal in Liverpool in the next ten days.
Nunez played the entire 120 minutes against Manchester United in the 4-3 FA Cup defeat, his fifth game since recovering from a muscle injury on March 2. Since then, he has failed to play 90 minutes as Liverpool faced a difficult schedule of five games in 15 days.
Prior to that, he was sidelined with a muscle injury, which forced him to miss three games in February, including the EFL Cup final victory over Chelsea. These latest injury difficulties have been uncommon this season, since he had been available for the whole season before to the injuries in February.
Jurgen Klopp will need his forward to be fit and blazing for the final stages of the Premier League and Europa League, as he has been one of their greatest players this season. 17 goals and 14 assists in 42 games is a significant increase over last season’s first year performance.
He has since been Bielsa’s key man at international level, although they will not play any competitive games until the Copa America begins in June, when they will compete in a group with Panama, Bolivia, and the United States of America.
