Luis Sinisterra return to Leeds United despite controversial departure at Elland Road

Despite having a falling out with Leeds United during his departure, Dean Jones has stated that Luis Sinisterra may return to Elland Road following his loan stint with Bournemouth.

The Colombian left Elland Road on the summer transfer deadline, with Jaidon Anthony joining Daniel Farke‘s team in a last-minute swap with Bournemouth.
His departure was clouded by legal challenges, starting with one over a contract obligation owing to the winger and continuing with inquiries about a deal sheet after the trade fell through before the deadline.
Jones stated, “They have this situation around Sinisterra to deal with because they still have him on their books,” in an interview with GIVEMESPORT on January 14

“I’ve seen people playing this down because of fallouts that he has had in the past at the club, but I don’t think that matters and Sinisterra is still good enough to have a future at Leeds.

This was not what anyone would have anticipated

Nobody would have thought a return for the winger was in the cards given the circumstances surrounding the deal, which had understandably left many at Elland Road with a bad taste in their mouths—Farke and the 49ers most likely included.

Additionally, it was revealed in the summer [Yorkshire Evening Post, 2 September] that Bournemouth had the option to purchase added to the loan agreement, meaning Leeds would get more than the £20 million they had originally spent to bring him to Yorkshire.

But since joining the South Coast team, Sinisterra has only started two Premier League games. Instead, he has averaged barely 30 minutes per game, coming on as a substitute in ten games and scoring two goals. [Sofascore]

That appears to have created the opportunity for an incredible comeback to Elland Road at the conclusion of his loan agreement, but he will most certainly need to rebuild a number of bridges and gain trust if he wants to be included in Farke‘s long-term plans.

A club owned by a billionaire might only offer half of what Leeds United is asking for in a transfer, according to other Leeds United reports.
