‘Magnificent’: TalkSPORT commentator blown away live on air by Leeds ace’s performance against Norwich

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford blew Ian Danter away with his “magnificent” header that put them up 1-0 against Norwich City on Wednesday (24 January).

The Whites travel to Elland Road on Wednesday evening hoping to reduce the gap between themselves and the automatic promotion slot to two points with a win.

And Daniel Farke‘s team got off to the perfect start as Dan James produced a brilliant cross for the in-form Bamford, who scored his fourth goal in five games for Leeds United with a stunning header inside the six-yard box.

And Danter, speaking live on talkSPORT radio (January 24, 8:02 p.m.), couldn’t believe what he saw from the big-name Elland Road striker following his brilliant header.

He commented, “A fantastic header by Bamford. He now has four wins in five games across all competitions, and Leeds are well on their way to automatic promotion.

“A Daniel James cross from the right corner of the box, followed by a superb free header from Bamford. “Leeds 1-0 Norwich.”

Top-notch form

Farke will be ecstatic with Bamford’s current form, as seen by the header scored by a guy who knows where the back of the net is.

It was a fantastic cross from James, but Bamford still needed to make sure Angus Gunn in the Norwich goal had no chance with his header, which he did flawlessly.

Bamford‘s recent turnaround in his Leeds United career is particularly impressive, given that he appeared to be a safe bet to be moved by Farke a few months ago due to his limited opportunities in the squad.

Given his current purple patch, the former Middlesbrough star is demonstrating why he is a big name at Elland Road and a Leeds fan favourite.

Summer signing Joel Piroe may have scored the winner at Preston North End on Sunday, but he is being kept out of the starting lineup by a player who deserves it right now.

The Englishman has made a tremendous turnaround, and long may it continue.
