Man City is predicted to make a fortune on their deadly Tottenham raid; with the player being Guardiola’s “dream signing.”

Tottenham have been advised that they will soon have a major difficulty keeping Micky van de Ven, with the Dutch defender predicted to become one of the top defenders in the game and one agency describing him as an ideal target for Manchester City.

The Cityzens are on track to capture the Double again this season, with a win at home to West Ham on Sunday securing a fourth consecutive Premier League crown, a feat never before accomplished. And with Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend, few anticipate them to fail to win both trophies again.

Manchester City has achieved sparkling success under Pep Guardiola, widely regarded as the best coach in world football. While their domestic success has already resulted in five Premier League titles, it has made enticing their targets to the Etihad Stadium that much simpler.

Indeed, the City manager is incredibly choosy about which players he targets, and, while they must still adhere to FFP standards, they have been known to spend some major money on transfer fees over time.

They are now being supported to launch a potential attempt to lure Van de Ven to the Etihad in the near future, after the Dutchman dominated the Premier League this season.

Except for Bundesliga fans, the 23-year-old centre-half arrived in north London from Wolfsburg for an initial €40 million (£34.5 million) plus a further €10 million (£8.5 million) in add-ons, making him the club’s most expensive defensive signing of all time.

Tottenham star expected to make Netherlands’ Euro 204 team.

Van de Ven has made 28 appearances for Tottenham in his debut season, thanks to his incredible pace – the Dutch defender clocked the fastest speed ever recorded in the Premier League earlier this season when he hit an astonishing 37.38 km/h against Brentford on January 31 – and his excellent reading of the game.

A devastating hamstring injury sustained against Chelsea in early November forced the centre-back to miss 56 days of play, coinciding with a drop in form for Postecoglou’s team.

And his contribution to the team was just acknowledged when he was crowned player of the season at a recent awards event.

The Netherlands may have a number of quality central defensive options, but that hasn’t stopped the former Voldendam teenager from making his debut, earning two caps for the Oranje thus far.

Now, Frank de Boer has pushed Ronald Koeman to consider the Tottenham player in his team for the next European Championships.

De Boer told Viaplay: “Fantastic; he has done an incredible job.” Played for the Dutch national team, winning Player of the Year. The fact that you can play so many games at this level in your first season speaks something about him, I believe.

De Boer also adds that his capabilities piqued his interest from an early age and that he was a player on his radar when in charge of the national team from 2020 to 2021.

“We knew he had amazing talent. He possesses speed, which is very crucial. In addition, he has good technique, which makes him an excellent defender,” De Boer said.

Van de Ven would be a wonderful acquisition for Manchester City. Guardiola

When asked if Van de Ven should be selected in the Euro 2024 squad, he responded, “I believe so. He carries a weapon: speed.

“If we want to play with the Dutch team with space in the back…” Normally, he plays centrally, but against City, he plays left back. That’s an added advantage. He can truly play Dutch football. “A very modern central defender.”

Tottenham have greatly benefited from having Van de Ven in their defence this season, but Dutch agent Simon Cziommer believes the north London club could soon see some of the world’s biggest and greatest sides interested in signing the 23-year-old.

And, having described him as a fantastic purchase for Guardiola and City, Cziommer believes he will soon be active in Europe’s top league.

When asked about a potential big-money move to the Etihad, he said, “I think if he continues like this, he would not be out of place at City.”

“Guardiola plays with seven to eight men in front of the ball, leaving one or two defenders in the back. Then you need speed and combat power. “And Van de Ven has that.”

While it should be mentioned that Cziommer does not represent Van de Ven, his comments are sure to send shivers down Tottenham fans’ spines, and it would be unsurprising if City were to pursue a bid for the Dutch speedster.
