Manager confirms he will lose striker to Tottenham deal

In January, Germany international Timo Werner joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.

Marco Rose, the German club’s manager, has remarked that he is glad to see the former Chelsea attacker enjoying life in Tottenham.

Werner, 28, has made seven Spurs appearances, with two assists and one goal in the last two games. This is more than he did at Leipzig in the first part of the season, when he was handed infrequent playing time.

Werner might join Tottenham permanently.

Tottenham has the option of making the signing permanent, and the Premier League team is said to be considering it.

According to RTL, the manager indicated that there has been no communication with the Tottenham player since Thursday’s media appearance.

“We are not in communication, but I am tracking his progress. He starts scoring again as a result of his ease and good mood. “He should keep riding the wave,” he said.

“Basically, he is one of our players, but Tottenham obviously have the opportunity to sign him completely.”

How can Tottenham sign Werner?

According to a story in Thursday’s BILD newspaper, Tottenham must decide whether to exercise a purchase option for Germany’s Timo Werner by the middle of June.

Spurs must make a decision by June 14, according to BILD. According to DPA sources, if they decide to keep him, they will have to pay a €17 million transfer fee ($18.6 million).

Werner decided to return to England in order to gain more playing time and the opportunity to rejoin the national squad for the Euro 2024 tournament.

After playing for Leipzig from 2016 to 2020, Werner was signed by Chelsea for €53 million. In 2022, he returned to Leipzig for €20 million.
