Manager criticised for ignoring Nottingham Forest player – ‘Much better form’ than others.

Prior to Dorival Junior’s first call up as Brazil’s national team coach, Nottingham Forest defender Murillo was expected to be named on the list.

Since the centre-back is enjoying a wonderful debut season in the Premier League, many people wondered if he deserved a position, and ESPN Brasil even asked him about it.

Murillo did not make the list, but UOL‘s squad coverage includes columns from Danilo Lavieri and Walter Casagrande Jr., both of whom reference Nottingham Forest.

In the first, Casagrande emphasised the defender’s abilities and noted that he has a lot of room to advance in his career.
“I believe Murillo, Nottingham Forest‘s teenage centre-back, should have also been called up because he plays multiple roles. He’s a serious, strong, left-footed player who smashes the ball well. He’s also young and has future promise.”

According to Lavieri, Murillo is performing better than the other Murilo, who also plays for Palmeiras.

“Murilo, from Palmeiras, had an excellent Brasileirão last year, but is not in his best form either.” His almost namesake, Murillo, ex-Corinthians and now at Nottingham Forest, is in far better shape and may have been rememberd.

With the Copa America approaching, Murillo‘s chances of making the team before the competition become increasingly difficult. To make that happen, he’ll need to have a strong finish to the season at Nottingham Forest and hope that Dorival Junior keeps an eye on him.
