Manchester City vs. Brighton: Predictions

The Premier League has returned, and Manchester City is seeking to avoid a third consecutive league defeat.

Before the international break, City suffered defeats against Wolves and Arsenal, and they will be desperate to avoid another against an in-form Brighton team.

The Blues have a tough match against Roberto de Zerbi‘s side, so how do our own BnB team think we’ll fare against Brighton? Here’s what they have to say.

Saul
City return from the break with more matches under our belts for our starters and a stern test against Brighton. The midfield will determine the outcome, and City’s is superior. City wins 1-0.

City 1-0 Brighton

Craig

City return from the international break in bad form, and Brighton aren’t much better. Perhaps a break was just what the doctor ordered for both teams. They both have the attacking flair and quality to put on a show for us this weekend, and I believe they will.

Thomas
Pep and the boys are back, and the Etihad will be rocking for this one. Rodri and Stones return, which causes problems for the Seagulls. Give me a Foden masterclass and I’ll give the Sky Blues three points.

City 3-1 Brighton

Dillion
I’d like to see a good response following the international break. The Arsenal defeat seems like an eternity ago, and a strong win against Brighton should instill some much-needed confidence in the team.

Brighton have certainly looked fantastic under De Zerbi, but they have also conceded more goals than any other team not currently in the relegation zone. They are weak at moments, and the greatest manager in sports history will exploit that.

Pete

Tough match, and City need to get back on track, especially with a trip to Switzerland in the middle of the week, followed by a derby at Old Trafford. Even against a strong Brighton side, I can’t see the Blues losing a third game in a succession. I believe it will be close, but City will prevail.

City 2-0 Brighton

Last Time Out
It seems like an eternity since we lost at Arsenal, and no one predicted that result. Saul and Craig both anticipated City to win, but they both got the goal difference correct, so they both earn two points.

Thomas and Dillon chose a draw, thus no points, but Pete chose a 1-0 win for City. It’s so annoying, but at least we have two points for goal difference!
