Manchester United insider reveals shocking Brighton transfer claim: ‘Killing us’

According to an Old Trafford insider, Brighton and Hove Albion are ‘killing’ Manchester United in the transfer market.

When it comes to recruitment, the Seagulls are known to be astute operators, and their policy of attracting and developing some of the world’s best talent has resulted in high-level success.

Last season, Brighton finished sixth in the Premier League and qualified for the Europa League for the first time in club history.

While Manchester United have spent a lot of money on players like Antony, Mason Mount, and the aging Casemiro, Brighton have taken a different approach.

They have signed young first-team regulars Evan Ferguson, Kaoru Mitoma, and Simon Adingra for low fees, while Moises Caicedo, Leo Trossard, Yves Bissouma, Ben White, and Alexis MacAllister have all contributed and then been sold for large sums of money.

Albion‘s data-driven approach, combined with the environment in which new players arrive, has allowed them to thrive and compete with world football’s financial behemoths.

“We just can’t get the best young players in at the moment, and that’s killing us – we can’t compete with Brighton, let alone Man City,” a club source told Football Insider.

Brighton is currently seventh in the Premier League, one point ahead of Manchester United, who are eighth. Since the 2017-18 season, United has spent more than £1 billion on new players.
