Mark Lawrenson predicts the score between Tottenham and Nottingham Forest

Mark Lawrenson believes Tottenham Hotspur will defeat Nottingham Forest at home on Sunday to keep their fourth-place hopes alive.

While Tottenham faces a difficult finale to the season, Ange Postecoglou will consider tomorrow’s match against Forest as a home win, expecting his team to take three points.

That is not to imply that the Australian will take Forest lightly, especially after the scare Luton Town gave his side a week ago.

Spurs have recently struggled with consistency, starting games slowly before upping their intensity in the second half, and this is not a pattern that Tottenham fans want to see repeated on Sunday.

While some outlets have rightly hyped Nuno Espirito Santo’s return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Forest manager has emphasised that he is only concerned with his team’s goals rather than proving a point to his old employers (Nottingham Post).

Lawrenson does not anticipate the Midlands clubs to put up much of a fight against Spurs, and believes the home side will win comfortably.

He told Paddy Power: “Nottingham Forest had a wonderful win at Fulham in the week, and I had no idea how near they were to the drop zone.

“I don’t think they’ll get anything because Tottenham will come and attack them as they do to everyone. Prediction: Tottenham 3-0 Nottingham Forest.”

There are no easy games in the Premier League these days, and Nuno will seek to frustrate Tottenham by following the example of West Ham and Luton.

An early goal for Spurs will compel Forest to come out of their shell, making the Lilywhites’ job much easier.
