Before the transfer window closes, Manchester United is eager to sign a forward on a loan.
According to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, administrators “ideally” would like to add another player to their attack.
Jones claims that by making this acquisition, Mason Greenwood, who has been the focus of “multiple enquiries,” will be “replaced.”
The most recent team to be associated with Greenwood is Besiktas, but no firm offer appears to have been made as of yet. Despite only being in the middle of talks, the Turkish team is reportedly evaluating the forward’s fitness.
Even The Telegraph has speculated that United would be compelled to sever Greenwood’s contract before the Friday at 11 p.m. deadline.
This would then give the striker the freedom to continue haggling with any team outside of Old Trafford. If he continues until the September 1 cutoff date, United might be forced to keep Greenwood until the transfer window reopens in January.
There is a lot of uncertainty in this circumstance. But the club’s need for front-line reinforcements is more certain.
Following his sensational transfer from Atalanta, Rasmus Hjlund is expected to perhaps make his debut this weekend in the matchday squad.
Despite being a striker with great talent, the Danish player is only 20 years old. He has played in one season of top-flight European football, and his greatest league season output was nine goals.
It is completely unrealistic to expect Hjlund to be Old Trafford‘s primary scorer this season.
The only other other known striker in the group right now is Anthony Martial. Erik ten Hag appreciates the French forward’s many abilities, but his injury history speaks for itself. Under Ten Hag, Martial has missed approximately 45% of United’s games due to injury.
To lessen the load on Hjlund, an additional forward is required.
Brennan Johnson had been connected to United earlier in the summer, but they balked at the cost. Given the needs elsewhere in the squad at this late stage of the window, a loan move appears to be the only choice for the club.
