Micky van de Ven’s injury update- ‘spotted’ in training.

Micky van de Ven was’spotted’ in Tottenham training on Wednesday, according to the latest Tottenham injury news.

Micky van de Ven was forced to leave Tottenham’s Premier League match against Chelsea earlier this week after collapsing clutching his hamstring. The Netherlands international had made an electric start to life in north London, forming an excellent partnership with Cristian Romero, but that is set to end in the coming weeks.

Just minutes before van de Ven‘s injury, Romero received a straight red card for a penalty area foul on Enzo Fernandez, which Cole Palmer converted from 12 yards. As a result, after Destiny Udogie was sent off, Eric Dier was given his first minutes of the season, first alongside Emerson Royal and then alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

After the game, Ange Postecoglou‘s immediate update on van de Ven was less than encouraging, as was his explanation for why James Maddison was also subbed off in the first half. Postecoglou said after the game, “It’s too early.” “With Micky, it’s a significant one, so you’d think he’d be out for a while.

“He [Maddison] was hit on the ankle. We were already down one man. At that point, it made sense to make a few changes.” While Maddison was withdrawn as a precaution, the way van de Ven pulled up and left the pitch in tears suggests he will be out for a long time, but a surprising image from Tottenham training may suggest otherwise.

Van de Ven was spotted in the gym with a concerned Son-Heung min, with training at Hotspur Way in full swing ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Wolves. While everything points to van de Ven being out for some time, seeing him smiling in his full Tottenham training gear, via Shutterstock, with no obvious strapping on his hamstring gives Spurs hope that his injury is not as severe as first thought.

“No strapping, he’s standing up, he’s got his gym gear on,” X (formerly Twitter) user @Craig1Osullivan said after discovering the image. Please perform this miracle or I will become religious.” As a result, many people have suggested that it could be a grade 1 injury, which is a minor muscle pull or strain that heals in a matter of days.

Pedro Neto of the Wolves recently suffered what appeared to be a serious hamstring injury, but he has since confirmed that he will only be out for a few weeks. While van de Ven has not made any public statements, this training image gives supporters hope that they will see him again before the end of the year.

Postecoglou will almost certainly be asked for an update on his injury during his pre-Wolves press conference later this week, after reports surfaced that scans and additional tests were scheduled for Wednesday to assess the damage once the swelling had subsided.
