After a protracted discussion, Milan was able to reach a happy conclusion when Emerson Royal landed in Italy on Sunday night and completed his move on Monday. He comes following Alvaro Morata and Strahinja Pavlovic as their third summer addition.

The Rossoneri will pay €15 million plus add-ons for the Brazilian fullback, according to Mediaset. They’ve been negotiating for him the entire time. He agreed to a four-year deal worth €4 million in salary and an option. He went with number 22.

Emerson Royal’s unwavering commitment to joining Milan has aided the Italian squad during negotiations with Spurs. They ended up getting him for far less than what they had originally asked for. The fullback, who had lost favor with coach Ange Postecoglou, was excited to go.

The 25-year-old arrived from Barcelona in 2021 and played for Tottenham for three seasons. With 101 appearances, he scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists. Earlier in his career, he played for Ponte Preta, Atletico MG, and Real Betis. He has 10 caps for Brazil.

Their starting lineup will be less imbalanced because they have a well-rounded right-back tandem and a backup Theo Hernandez in case of need. However, Paulo Fonseca hasn’t shown that he is eager to take on those responsibilities. Though the pricing was a little on the high side, there were more intriguing choices available. Gradually, the Rossoneri’s strategy is taking shape, but in order for their team to play well, they need a holding midfielder.
