The club is excited to announce that Joe Worrall has extended his contract with Nottingham Forest.
The Forest captain has extended his current contract by two years, keeping him at The City Ground at least through the summer of 2026.
Worrall, who first signed with Forest as a young player in 2011, has since made 220 appearances for his old team across all competitions.
The defender made his Forest debut against Reading in April 2016 and has since cemented himself as a major member of the team’s defensive core. He captained The Reds during their successful campaigns for promotion in 2021–22 and top-flight survival in 2017–18.
The 26-year-old, who has started all four of Forest’s Premier League games this season, has now recommitted his future to Forest after initially signing a long-term contract in 2020.
“I’m over the moon and just so pleased to extend my time with the club,” Joe Worrall stated.
“You only need to look ahead, and the future appears to be quite promising. Everyone is aware of how passionately we work to advance as a club and as a squad.
“The owner has repeatedly shown that he is forming the Forest family and developing a true sense of self within the football club, not just within the club but also across the league and around the globe of football. We wish to recapture that force.
Ross Wilson, the Chief Football Officer of Forest, continued, “We were pleased to reach an agreement with Joe to extend his contract recently, and I know that Joe was equally pleased to do so.”
