According to Bild, Leeds United has agreed to a hefty four-year contract in an effort to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri.
The 26-year-old has reportedly flown to Leeds because he’s now open to a move to Elland Road, according to the German media site on Monday (28 August).
Upon completion of the transfer, Leeds will have to pay Bayer a fee of £5.15 million.
No more delays?
There is no reason why this trade shouldn’t go through if his contract has been negotiated and is lucrative.
Any delay was caused by the player, not Bayer, and the Whites will be paying the transfer money.
Due to the midfielder’s uncertainty about his future and the German club’s apparent willingness to release him for the right price, there were numerous delays.
It’s obvious that Leeds will be trying to add one or two central midfielders this summer, so it’s impressive that they were able to recruit Amiri despite playing in the Championship.
He is a full-fledged member of the German national team, which has several players of the highest calibre in the world. He will be among the top midfielders in the second division.
If he does move to Elland Road, Daniel Farke will undoubtedly have contributed to his decision to join.
