‘No Brainer’ – Daniel Farke Makes Major Decision as Leeds Close in on ‘Really Good’ Star Fans Will Love

Leeds United are poised to decide on the free transfer of Sam Byram during the next week, according to Graham Smyth in a post-match interview with Daniel Farke.

The free agent had “some really good performances” in his time back at Thorp Arch, according to the German, with many fans seeing the deal as a “no brainer” after an impressive pre-season.

Leeds United are set to make a significant decision on Sam Byram.

How has Sam Byram’s preseason gone?

Fans were surprised to see former Whites full-back Sam Byram practising with the club at Thorp Arch at the start of pre-season. He left Leeds in a difficult condition due to poor ownership, thus he was not on good terms with supporters at the time. Despite this, the Englishman returned to Elland Road and met up with the former Norwich City manager for what was supposedly pre-season training to improve his fitness.

Following this first phase of fitness retention, Byram has become one of Leeds United‘s more impressive players. He has slotted directly into the side because to his experience of German tactics, giving both attacking versatility and defensive solidity to a squad that appeared somewhat weak at the start of the window. These strong performances have put him in the running for a deal with Leeds.

Is Sam Byram Required for Leeds United?

At the present, the arguments in favour of signing the full-back considerably outnumber those in favour of keeping him as a free agent. His outstanding pre-season performances have shown that he can fill the left-back position (where the Whites are lacking significantly in depth), and he’d be entering without the club having to pay a fee. The move works financially, and it has also been shown to be fairly successful on the pitch.

Byram’s return to Elland Road also allows him to finish his story in a Leeds uniform. His previous spell at the club saw him leave under a cloud, but returning at a time when the club is desperate for a player in his position might be a positive aspect in the eyes of supporters. Aside from football, it would be fantastic to see him return to his previous club with good intentions.
