Leeds United cannot afford to lose Georginio Rutter to injury this season.
The Whites have a few players in their roster who are just irreplaceable, and Rutter is one of them, possibly even more so now that he has moved to number 10.
Rutter has always been the creative engine behind this Leeds team throughout the season, but after a brief pause in terms of his high standards, he is now back on track. It’s no surprise Leeds have won back-to-back league games 3-0 with him a bit deeper.
Daniel Farke appears to have given his team some time off with an eight-day gap between Cardiff City and Preston North End. Rutter has shared photographs of himself at a ski resort on various social media channels.
This has raised some concerns among Leeds fans that he may sustain an injury while overseas, but Rutter has quickly allayed any fears on Twitter.
Rutter assuages Leeds supporters’ injury concerns.
He wrote: “No worries, I walk only with my moon boots,” in response to a supporter who said: “Does this picture make anyone else nervous, don’t get injured lad @georgi_hrt.”
Thankfully, it appears that he is not skiing. Manuel Neuer did so just after the World Cup in 2022, breaking his leg and ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
Leeds currently face a run of fixtures where they should be able to string together a long run of wins, with three being the most they’ve had in a row this season.
Rutter, who has been in fantastic form in the last two matches, will be critical to achieving this goal.
