The Brazilian press has provided an update on Nottingham Forest player Gustavo Scarpa’s future.
The 29-year-old, who is on loan to Olympiacos till the end of the season, isn’t receiving much playing time in Greece and could be involved in another move shortly.
Scarpa’s ‘uncertain future’ is highlighted by UOL, who claims that Atlético Mineiro is making a second attempt to recruit him.
According to reports, the Galo are presently planning a €4.5m bid that would allow Nottingham Forest to maintain 20% of any future transfer.
The Reds had demanded €6 million for the transfer, but are now set to lower their demand because they want to sell Scarpa in January.
The main issue is the player himself, who has yet to determine whether he wants to return to Brazil, where he is also wanted by Bahia and Internacional.
Scarpa has only played 422 minutes for Olympiacos this season, and after failing to make an impression at Nottingham Forest, he is refusing to accept that his European career was cut short.
So, with the Reds potentially approving his exit, it should be entirely up to him.
