Gustavo Scarpa, a midfield player for Nottingham Forest, appears to be the target of Atletico Mineiro’s pursuit.
According to Tempo, the Reds have accepted the player’s bid, and the Brazilian team is currently awaiting a response.
There is “optimism” about a deal being reached, according to insiders at the club, and Atlético Mineiro is reportedly proposing €4 million for the signing.
As noted by O Tempo, Nuno Espírito Santo was recently named manager of Nottingham Forest, and the club is still awaiting his opinion on the transfer.
Scarpa is rumored to be interested in other Brazilian clubs as well, including Flamengo, but Atlético is thought to have an advantage because they were the first to get in touch with him and because their previous manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, is in charge.
Nottingham Forest must end the midfielder’s loan at Olympiacos before selling him because his contract there expires in the summer of 2019. But as long as the player gives the go-ahead, it doesn’t appear to be an issue for any of the clubs.
