Nottingham Forest transfer ‘rejection’ can motivate crucial player as warning issued over big-name deal.

Pre-season has provided a nice peek into Nottingham Forest’s potential for the next Premier League season.

Nuno Espirito

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo appears to have made good use of his players’ training time, and the group has a strong feeling of team spirit. The Reds’ summer acquisitions also appear to be settling in fast.
Forest’s business in the transfer window thus far has been good. Carlos Miguel, Elliot Anderson, Eric da Silva Moreira, and Nikola Milenkovic are all newcomers with much to offer.

However, more work needs to be done to complete Nuno’s team. Below, we look at some of the most recent transfer rumours.

Williams wanted.

This summer, Murillo, Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Anthony Elanga’s futures have been the subject of much speculation. But another Reds player appears to be a wanted man.

Neco Williams

West Ham United’s deal for defender Neco Williams was reportedly rejected earlier this summer. According to HITC, Forest rejected the Hammers’ bid because they had “no intention” of selling the right-back.
However, the club’s commitment may be challenged again before the next month’s deadline. AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs rumored to be interested in signing Williams.

NottinghamshireLive says: It’s not surprising that Williams has appeared on a few radars. He has improved dramatically in his two years at Trentside, and he was brilliant near the end of last season before being sidelined by injury.

At 23, he is still young and has room for further improvement. In that regard, he should be one of the key players in Forest’s Premier League campaign.

Eric da Silva Moreira

Eric da Silva Moreira appears to be a strong contender for the right-back position, but this could push Williams even further. Packing the dressing room with exciting young talent has been a prominent theme of the club’s transfer window, and both players contribute to that.

There has been no indication of the sum West Ham proposed or the seriousness of some of the other links. Of course, every player has a price, but turning down the Hammers was a wise decision by the Reds. The club may have to fend off interest in Williams – and possibly some of their other important players – before the window ends, but if they can keep them, Nuno appears to have a solid squad in place.

Former Real Madrid player James Rodriguez is on the lookout for a new home. According to sources, Forest has been offered the option to sign him.

The 33-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Sao Paulo, and he is thought to want to return to Europe. With that in mind, it appears that super agent Jorge Mendes has been working hard on his clients’ behalf.

According to TBR Football, numerous clubs, including the Reds, have been contacted and presented with the opportunity to sign Rodriguez. Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Lazio have all been linked.

According to NottinghamshireLive, Forest’s transfer market strategy has been deliberate and considered thus far. They have been careful in their signings.

Nonetheless, the Reds have been known to throw a few surprises through the windows. Pursuing this particular link would undoubtedly count as one.
