“One of the world’s best.” Youngsters speak out ahead of Tottenham’s switch

Tottenham Hotspur have been active in the transfer market since Ange Postecoglou took over at N17.

Indeed, Spurs were one of the few Premier League clubs to be active during the January window, with many others being quiet due to FFP constraints.

Tottenham scored two major coups in January, outbidding both Bayern Munich and Barcelona for the signing of two outstanding young players.

Spurs outbid Bayern Munich for Radu Dragusin, and they finished the month by signing Lucas Bergvall ahead of the Blaugrana.
Bergvall did not sign with Tottenham at the start of the year, instead remaining on loan at Djurgarden until the summer.

The 18-year-old will join Spurs in July, and it appears that he will be part of Postecoglou’s team initially.

Bergvall has now spoken with Fotboll Direkt about his impending move to Tottenham, sharing his thoughts on what lies ahead as well as leaving Djurgarden.

What has Lucas Bergvall said regarding the potential Tottenham move?

“It will be special,” Bergvall remarked of his transfer to England.

“It’s depressing, of course. I adore it here, so leaving everyone makes me sad, but I hope to return at some point.

“You begin to realise that this is the last game here for, hopefully, 17 years.

That’s the plan. It is. I want to end here, but you never know if you’ll get wounded or finish elsewhere. But yes, that is the plan.

“Djurgarden has meant a lot to me and has been an important part of my life. So, certainly, the club has been very important.”

Lucas Bergvall joins Tottenham as one of the top young players in football.

It’s understandable to hear Bergvall express his regret at closing a chapter, but he also appears to be looking forward to his move to Spurs.

Tottenham fans should be excited about Bergvall’s impending arrival at N17, since he is highly regarded.

Indeed, Djurgardens official Peter Kisfaludy recently touted Bergvall to become one of the world’s top midfielders.

“He has always been so extremely talented and I have always had the feeling that he can go as far as he wants and that there is no stopping him,” he recently told Aftonbladet, via Sport Witness.

“In three or four years, when he’s 22 or 23, he’ll be one of the world’s top midfielders. He will be one of the world’s top ten midfielders.”
