Tottenham Hotspur extended their unbeaten start to the season with a well-deserved victory over Fulham this yesterday.
Spurs’ attacking play was lethal once more, with goals from Heung-Min Son and James Maddison ensuring another three points.
While Maddison and Son will receive the attention, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher praised Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven.
During Spurs vs. Fulham, Jamie Carragher praised Micky van de Ven.
Carragher praised the Dutchman’s touch that helped set up Son’s first goal on Sky Sports at halftime.
“This is the man they are trying to get the ball in Lukic, and you talk about being on the front foot, Van de Ven says ‘you know what I’m going’, there’s two strikers up there and he jumps into midfield and that touch I think is absolutely out of this world from Van de Ven,” Carragher was quoted as saying.
Van de Ven is becoming increasingly attractive.
Spurs paid a lot of money for the 22-year-old, which raised some questions, but he’s turned out to be a great signing.
Van de Ven appears to have been playing in England for years, and he and Romero have developed one of the league’s strongest pairings.
Ange Postecoglou will be pleased with his defenders, as Van de Ven is pushing Romero for the top spot in defence.
This year, it appears like the Spurs are the real deal. And a title defence could be on the cards.
