Pascal Struijk has given new Leeds United manager Daniel Farke a good review ahead of the upcoming Championship season.
Leeds will kick off their Championship promotion bid against Cardiff City on Sunday, which will be new manager Farke‘s first competitive game in charge. The 46-year-old German has only been in charge for four weeks, but he has already made an impression on centre-back Struijk, who is enjoying his style of play and is eagerly awaiting the start of the new season.
“Exciting football,” Struijk said to LUTV when asked about his experiences so far under Farke. “It’s always nice to see new faces, and overall, it’s been pretty good since he’s been here.” It’s incredibly thrilling for me that he wants to play football the way we do now. I enjoy having the ball; as a child, you always want to have the ball, so for him to play this kind of football is both beneficial and entertaining.
“I think we’ve shown as a team in general that we can do it over the last few games, so it’s just a matter of working our way through it and getting better and better at the way he wants to play, but I am confident that we can do it as a team.”
When asked how he was feeling about the new season, Struijk replied, “Really excited.” This is why we have fun. We play preseason games to prepare for the big games, and it’s simply getting back there, starting the season again, and being thrilled to play.”
