Patrick Bamford has left Leeds United following an awful performance against Stoke City.

How many more opportunities will Patrick Bamford receive at Leeds United?

Daniel Farke

Since joining the Whites more than five years ago, the 30-year-old striker has only enjoyed one decent season, and that was the Yorkshire club’s return to the Premier League.

It allowed Bamford to virtually smash and grab an England cap before going missing for years owing to ongoing injury problems and poor performance on the pitch.

He made his sixth appearance for Leeds this season on Wednesday night (25 October), coming off the bench in the club’s 1-0 loss against Stoke City.

Almost immediately, the former Nottingham Forest striker earned a penalty for Leeds following a clumsy foul by Potters star Ben Pearson.

He got up and then inexcusably blasted his penalty over the crossbar.

Bamford has struggled in front of goal for virtually his entire time at Leeds.

He’s missed so many big chances to score that Opta have probably stopped counting because it’s an abnormally high number for a striker who’s played in the Premier League and Championship for so long.

Joel Piroe

We may excuse his injuries because they were not his fault in the end.

But that error was awful, and the fact that Stoke City scored the winning goal just minutes later didn’t just sting, it dug Bamford’s grave at Elland Road.

Bamford’s time at Leeds United has come to an end.

There will be no return from this when Daniel Farke has Joel Piroe, Rutter, and Joe Gelhardt – as well as up-and-coming youngsters in the team – to play ahead of the ineffective striker.

In other Leeds United news, Lee Hendrie was taken aback by Farke’s perplexing decision at Stoke.
