Leeds United need a new right-back
The Whites have already lost two alternatives in that area this month, with Djed Spence and Luke Ayling both leaving.
That leaves Leeds extremely thin in that area, but with the January transfer window open, there is an opportunity to bring in reinforcements.
On The Square Ball Podcast, Phil Hay discusses Leeds’ quest for a new right-back, including the club’s interest in Neco Williams.
According to Hay, Leeds genuinely want Williams, but Nottingham Forest have no intention of selling the Welshman since Nuno Espirito Santo is a great supporter of the player.
Williams is not accessible this month
Hay gave his knowledge about Williams.
“I mentioned Neco Williams on Monday as someone they really like, but all the signs from Forest are that Nuno, who just took over for Steve Cooper, also really likes him and is not interested in letting him go. “My impression was that they would be active on full-backs this month,” Hay said.
Hold off and observe
Williams is presently listed as unavailable by Nottingham Forest, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if this position altered as the transfer window came to a finish.
