Sam Greenwood has uploaded a photo of himself back at Leeds United training ahead of the game against West Bromwich Albion on Friday.
Greenwood shared the photo on his Instagram story on Tuesday afternoon, as he prepares to return to the first team.
The 21-year-old has been out since Leeds‘ first pre-season friendly against Manchester United in early July, with the extent of his injury unknown.
Greenwood, on the other hand, has been photographed wearing a protective boot, indicating that he has been suffering from a knee or foot injury.
Daniel Farke revealed at the end of last week that he had returned to training ahead of the trip to Birmingham City, but due to how long he had been out, he did not play at St Andrews.
Greenwood is back in training ahead of Leeds’ match against West Brom.
With another week of training under his belt, he is now anticipated to be in the squad against West Brom, which is a relief for Farke.
Leeds’ squad has been limited by injuries as well as Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra’s unwillingness to participate in order to pursue other opportunities.
As a result, Leeds could only select eight substitutes for last week’s trip to the West Midlands, two of whom were goalkeepers.
While Greenwood hasn’t exactly set hearts beating since breaking into the first squad, he adds another body to Farke’s arsenal, which is urgently required considering the club’s dearth of signings.
Greenwood will provide additional competition for the advanced midfield area, which was lacking in inventiveness and cutting edge last weekend.
