PL player who Leeds wants to sign says “there are talks” but won’t rule out leaving present club.

Michail Antonio, a striker for West Ham United, has not ruled out moving this summer despite Leeds United’s interest.

On the most recent episode of The Players Channel, which he co-hosts with Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson, Antonio addressed rumours that he would make a move.

With only 12 months remaining on his current contract, which does feature an option for an additional year, Football Transfers reports that Antonio is eager to terminate his eight-year stint at West Ham before the end of the transfer window.

Leeds and Celtic are reportedly among the parties interested in acquiring Antonio this summer, and a’small money’ would reportedly be sufficient to persuade West Ham to make a move.

Leeds is searching for a new striker, and Joel Piroe of Swansea City has also been mentioned, although it would cost a lot more money than signing Antonio.

In the face of Leeds speculations, Antonio won’t rule out leaving West Ham.

Although there is now nothing definite to announce, Antonio claims that nothing is off the table and that there are still ongoing negotiations about a potential exit.

“Obviously I’m being linked and there are talks of me leaving, but there’s nothing solid, there’s nothing concrete,” he added. “All I can do is keep working hard, keep playing for the team I’m currently employed by, and whatever happens, happens.”

Although Antonio undoubtedly possesses the skills to excel in the Championship, it doesn’t seem like he’s the type of striker Leeds needs right now.

To an incredibly quick and inventive frontline, Daniel Farke only has to add a prolific goal scorer, which Antonio has never truly been in his career.

Despite this, given how long he has played in the Premier League, it seems unlikely that Antonio would consider moving down to the Championship.
