The wait for Rodrigo Bentancur to return to the pitch and earn his first minutes under Ange Postecoglou shouldn’t be too long for Tottenham fans.
The midfielder has not yet played for his new management after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee against Leicester City back in February.
Fortunately, the Uruguayan is allegedly currently in the ‘final stage’ of his ACL recuperation, which means he still has about a month until he can play again.
Rodrigo Bentancur close to full recovery and return soon
Bentancur is “closing in on a return,” according to Football Insider, and should be ready by “the middle of November,” so everything is going according to plan for Tottenham.
Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are both expected to leave for the African Cup of Nations in January, necessitating the need for additional midfielders, so this could be ideal timing for Spurs.
Postecoglou will benefit greatly from having the midfield trio of Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, and James Maddison. Not to mention, Bentancur seems to be the only press-resilient substitute Spurs have for Bissouma in the pivot position when necessary.
