Postecoglou may start genuinely “brilliant.” Tottenham’s 23-year-old vs Aston Villa.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has a lot to consider when choosing his starting lineup for Sunday’s Premier League matchup against Aston Villa.

Oliver Skipp

Tottenham is missing a number of players. Not only is their defence weak, but at least two, possibly three, of their important players will be absent from their midfield.

Yves Bissouma is serving a suspension, and James Maddison is sidelined due to an injury. Furthermore, Pape Matar Sarr is questionable due to a problem he encountered while serving abroad.

Oliver Skipp might very well be starting for Tottenham against Unai Emery’s team under Postecoglou.

The Spurs manager hinted on Friday that the 23-year-old may be chosen, saying he has been putting in a lot of work and that he should soon receive a chance to play.

Oliver Skipp

“Skippy has put in a lot of work in the gym,” said to football.london. We’ve had four or five guys remain back with us, so he’s certainly one of them.

“Over the past few weeks, he has produced a great deal of work. While he waits for his opportunity, he is working hard.

“However, it doesn’t mean he can’t have an influence; he has already helped us and come on during games.

The challenge for him and the other guys is that, given the current state of the statistics, they will all get a chance to play. What matters is how they handle that.

Skipp is a “brilliant” prospect who rose through the Tottenham academy ranks and is getting close to making 100 appearances for the senior Spurs, but he still has a lot of work to do.

Although the Tottenham graduate is undoubtedly at Premier League level, he puts in a lot of work and is well-liked in the locker room. However, it is still too early to tell if he can help Spurs advance.

Let’s see whether Skipp can continue to make an impression and possibly start against Villa on Sunday in order to establish himself as a regular starter in Tottenham’s midfield.

Postecoglou will have to decide whether to add more players during the January transfer window or remain with his current lineup, especially because Sarr and Bissouma are expected to play in the Africa Cup of Nations.
