The midfielder joins Spurs‘ extensive injured list after suffering a “slight injury” in training, although the boss believes the damage is minor.
Lo Celso has improved since taking over for James Maddison, netting goals against Aston Villa and Manchester City, although he did not play in Newcastle‘s 4-1 thrashing.

“We’ve got quite a significant absence with eight on the injury table,” Postecoglou remarked to the club’s official media channels before of Friday’s meeting at the County Ground.

“Unfortunately, Gio Lo Celso will not be available this week.” Hopefully it’s nothing catastrophic, but we’re one less than last week, but the rest of the men are well.

When asked for more information about Lo Celso’s injury, the manager said, “A slight training injury, which we are still trying to work out, but it’s nothing serious.”

Maddison and fellow first-team regular Micky van de Ven are hoping to be back in contention for selection in January, and Postecoglou is delighted with their recovery progress.

“They’re going well,” he added. They’re in rehab with Bentancur, Solomon, Phillips, and all these other people, so they’re moving forward.”
