In an effort to halt Nottingham Forest’s slump, Nuno Espirito Santo has told his players to spend more time together at the training facility.
In his first match at the City Ground against Bournemouth, the Portuguese manager looks to snap a 13-game losing streak.
One of Nuno’s core convictions is that instead of leaving the field right away after training, his players ought to have lunch together and stay until the afternoon.
He said: ‘We have a bigger lounge area at the training ground and that allows the players to spend more time together and eat together. It’s the first step.
Since most of our communication will be in English, those players who don’t speak the language must proceed with this.
“Of course, if it’s necessary, I can speak to them in French or Portuguese, but in order for them to communicate and eat together, they must learn English.” You miss a great chance to get the players involved if you let them leave the training session early and head home.
“Since we have two nutritionists, they must defend their position!” The players can leave for home if you ensure that they eat healthily.
While Nuno has pledged to give each player a fresh start, he has already put his team on notice because he feels it is too big. Although former manager Steve Cooper did not share the same views as defenders Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna at the end of his time, both are believed to have been re-assigned.
Although Morgan Gibbs-White, who is Forest’s most inventive player, also failed to earn consistent playing time under Nuno at Wolves, Nuno thinks he has grown since their time together at Molineux.
“I think he is better now,” he continued. Even though he was younger at Wolves, he had talent. Although I believe Steve did a great job elevating Morgan, there are always things to improve.
“Morgan is ready to move forward at this precise moment.” We have the responsibility to help him develop further because he is more mature and talented.
