Prior to the matches between Leeds United and Leicester City, Southampton confirms a serious injury blow.

Stuart Armstrong had a muscular injury that will keep the Southampton manager, Russell Martin, off the pitch for the rest of the season.

As a result, the midfield player will miss important matches against Leeds United and Leicester City.

Armstrong‘s injury added to a terrible day for Southampton, which saw them give up a lead and surrender the game-winning goal in the 96th minute during their 2-1 loss to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Armstrong was carted off the field after the game. Following the outcome, Martin quickly acknowledged that the midfield player’s injury was “a bad one,” and he departed Wales using crutches.

Although they would need to finish flawlessly and hope that those in the top spots make mistakes, Southampton can still theoretically finish in the Championship‘s automatic promotion spots.

The Saints play at home against Stoke City in between their trips to Leeds United on the last day and Leicester City on Tuesday. Martin verified Armstrong’s ailment, saying, “It’s his quad, it’s a muscle injury.” “We’ll exert every effort to ensure he’s fit for Scotland at the Euros.” I don’t think he truly has a chance of playing for us, but I think he has a great possibility for that.

He has a great chance of making the Scotland team because he has performed admirably for both teams this season and has been in every squad.

Given his injuries, I believe there’s a good chance he’ll be able to participate in that. As a football team, we shall thus use every effort to assist him in reaching his goal. Although it wasn’t as bad as we all thought, it’s still bad enough to keep him away for a while so that he can’t assist us.

Southampton will also be concerned about Flynn Downes’ availability for the last games.

The West Ham player, who is on loan, was substituted at halftime during the team’s 3-0 victory over Preston earlier in the week, and he was not present in Cardiff. The midfielder’s problem is unknown, but Martin hinted that he might not be risked if a top-two finish is out of the question.
