He provided a picture of Queen Elizabeth II in black and white
On the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s burial, Liverpool star Mohammed Salah paid an emotional homage to the monarch.
In remembrance of the late monarch, the Reds attacker posted a picture of the Queen in black and white on Instagram. On Monday, September 19, the day of her funeral in Windsor, he posted the tribute.
“Today, the people of Great Britain and the world pay respect to and send adieu to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, remembering her legacy and unyielding service,” the message stated.
“On this important and sentimental day, my thoughts are with the Royal Family.”
The Last Post was played at the conclusion of the State Funeral in Westminster Abbey, which was followed by a two-minute nationwide silence. The Queen’s casket was then carried from Buckingham Palace to Wellington Arch along The Mall, passing by it for the last time.
The Queen was then laid to rest in a modest chapel next to St. George’s Chapel, where her parents reside, after the casket was brought to Windsor Castle. She will lie in peace with her late husband Prince Philip, whose casket has been in the Royal Vault since his passing.
According to the Mirror, Prince Philip’s coffin will be transferred from the Royal Vault to the memorial chapel where it will join the Queen’s. The same company that created the coffin in which the Duke of Edinburgh is interred manufactured the Queen’s casket for her more than 30 years ago.
It was agreed that Prince Philip would not be buried until after the Queen’s passing when he passed away in April 2021. Prince Philip will be transferred so that they can be buried together and he can say goodbye to his wife for the last time.
There are currently 24 other royals interred at the Royal Vault in addition to the Duke of Edinburgh. These include Princess Mary Adelaide, Duchess of Teck, the mother of Queen Mary, Prince Edward, the father of Queen Victoria, and the two sons of George III, Prince Alfred and Prince Octavius.
