Radu Dragusin has posted a greeting to Tottenham fans after making his debut on Sunday

Radu Dragusin sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur fans following his debut at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Following an interesting transfer story, the Romanian defender finalised his move from Genoa on Thursday.

Tottenham eventually completed a deal for Radu Dragusin, despite Bayern Munich’s late attempt to hijack the agreement.

It resulted in Eric Dier moving to Munich and Ange Postecoglou finally getting his much-needed centre defender.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero returned to action on Sunday as Spurs earned a 2-2 draw at Manchester United.

Dragusin came on as a substitute for Oliver Skipp in the 85th minute, and he helped Tottenham win.

After making his Spurs debut, Dragusin took to Instagram to send a message to fans.

Dragusin took to social media on Monday evening to share his joy at making his debut for Tottenham.

He responded in an email: “Amazing feeling making my debut for this incredible club, thanks to the fans for the support.”

Given Spurs‘ defensive problems this season, the signing of Dragusin feels significant.

Van de Ven had been declared out since early November before returning over the weekend.

Romero had also missed the last few games with a hamstring injury after receiving a red card in the same game as Van de Ven’s setback.

Postecoglou has experimented with his backline in their absence, with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies creating a makeshift centre-back tandem.

However, with his two preferred centre-backs returning and Dragusin joining the squad, Spurs now have three quality central defenders.

This will also provide Postecoglou the option of modifying his system, as he did to finish the game against United on Sunday.
