Rangers could leave this month due to a £6 million transaction that leaves Tom Lawrence’s door open.

There are still many unresolved issues at Rangers as the transfer window moves into business end area.

Will Rangers‘ new center defender Rafael Fernandes, who joined on loan from LOSC Lille last weekend, be followed by any more additions? With teams in Spain, Italy, and France reportedly interested, will Cyriel Dessers remain in his current position?
Dessers acknowledged that after dropping from first to third in Philippe Clement’s hierarchy, he requested “talks” with the Rangers’ management last week.

But since those remarks surfaced, the seasoned striker has scored four goals in two games, including a hat-trick against Fraserburgh. In the Europa League, Dessers hammered in a “sensational” effort against Manchester United.

Will Rangers sign Dundee sensation Lyall Cameron to a pre-contract agreement? Will his rumored Serie A suitors try to sign Ianis Hagi now that he’s recovered?

What about Tom Lawrence?

With his contract expiring this summer and another injury-plagued season underway, the 31-year-old Welshman’s chances of signing a new deal at Ibrox seem slim.
Scott Parker discusses Burnley’s objectives while mentioning his connections to Rangers’ Tom Lawrence.
Tom Lawrence, who previously played for Manchester United, Derby County, and Ipswich Town, has been linked to Burnley in an attempt to return to English football before the February deadline.

However, Burnley manager Scott Parker said that any move for Lawrence would probably depend on departures occurring first when asked about the possibility of reinforcements at Turf Moor.

As Burnley gets ready to meet title rivals Leeds United on Monday, Parker remarks, “To be honest with you, we still have a biggish squad.” “Look, January is really challenging as usual. It’s a really challenging month. We don’t want to rush into anything, and I most definitely don’t want to do that either.

“We will definitely attempt to enhance ourselves if there is anything that can be done that would fit into this group. The boys in this group are amazing and have performed exceptionally well.

“We’ll most likely respond to events more reactively. Some players may leave, while others may stay. Perhaps something intriguing emerges from someplace.

Theoretically, Mike Tresor’s future could determine if Lawrence chooses Lancashire over Glasgow.

The Clarets may not be in a rush to add another attacking midfielder to their roster while the costlyly purchased Tresor is still earning a weekly salary. Burnley’s £16 million forgotten man has only played once this season, in January’s FA Cup triumph against third-tier Reading.
Burnley loses out on Morgan Whittaker to Middlesbrough.

When Rangers endured Europa League heartbreak at Old Trafford, Lawrence was included in Philippe Clement’s squad for the first time since October.

During Lawrence’s most recent extended stint on the Ibrox benches, Nedim Bajrami, Ianis Hagi, and Danilo may have all moved ahead of the former Red Devils starlet in the hierarchy, thus he did not come off the bench against the team where he began his career.

Lawrence might still travel to Turkey to play alongside former Rangers teammates Borna Barisic and John Lundstram.

Last summer, Trabzonspor acquired the former GERS pair. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas team is interested in Tom Lawrence, but considering Burnley’s current promotion struggle, a return south of the border would be quite alluring.

Morgan Whittaker of Plymouth Argyle had been Burnley’s first target.

However, as Whittaker, a former Rangers target, is going to Middlesbrough instead—their Championship opponents have seen Argyle accept a £6 million bid—the door may still be open for Lawrence to take his position.
Clinton Morrison, a former striker for Birmingham and Crystal Palace, tells Football League World, “I think if a player like that becomes available, you definitely have a look at him for your squad.”

It wouldn’t be a bad signing, in my opinion. Burnley might pursue Lawrence if they are unable to acquire Whittaker. The signing would be beneficial.

“Don’t be offended by that if Lawrence is available.”
