Ahead of Rangers’ match against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday, Philippe Clement has given an injury report for his team.
Following Thursday’s Europa League draw with Tottenham Hotspur, John Souttar and Hamza Igamane were both immediately a source of concern.
The two Gers players hobbled off at different moments during the match, the former seemingly burning out after putting in a strong shift against Premier League defenders, and the latter holding his groin.
Clement has updated the media on the fitness of his team now that Ianis Hagi and Danilo, who were left off the Europa League roster, are back ready for selection.
The Belgian stated: “At this time, I am unable to make any firm statements regarding the weekend or the condition of the injuries. We are awaiting the doctor’s evaluation, so I am unable to comment at this time. I’m confident that John [Souttar] would sacrifice everything to play.
“I know he will give it his all because he is usually so driven for that, the club, and winning trophies, but it has obviously be something that is feasible.
“Everyone in the squad has performed when coming into the squad in the past few weeks.”
