Chelsea has offered Carney Chukwuemeka to Rangers, but Enzo Maresca prefers to keep Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in January, according to TBR Football.

The online site stated on December 3 that the Blues are working hard to secure a January move for the 21-year-old, with loan and permanent options being investigated.

The Gers and Old Firm rivals Celtic have been offered the chance to sign the central midfielder, who joined Chelsea for £20 million from Aston Villa in 2022.

Chelsea’s head coach would sooner lose the England Under-21 international than summer signing Dewsbury-Hall.

The young midfielder was a highly regarded talent coming through the Northampton and Villa academies, but his career in senior football has not gone as planned.

Steven Gerrard, the former Light Blues manager, gave the Englishman the majority of his starting opportunities for the Villans before he moved to Chelsea.

Chukwuemeka has made only 31 appearances in all competitions since moving from the Midlands to West London, and he is yet to play in the Premier League this season.

A transfer away from Stamford Bridge would benefit all parties, including Philippe Clement.

If a loan agreement can be reached, the Ibrox management faces little risk and might benefit from the addition of the Chelsea player to their squad.
