Another weekend, and yet another plenty of footage to review from a weekend in which VAR and Nottingham Forest carried on their destructive feud.
The Reds suffered their first defeat of 2024–25 as Fulham defeated a Forest team that appeared to be lacking in inspiration 1-0.
The solitary goal of the match was scored by Raul Jimenez from the penalty spot after Murillo was found to have fouled Andreas Pereira.
Nuno Espirito Santo now has some work to do to make sure Forest can play Chelsea away the following weekend and enter the international break on a strong note.
Regarding the Murillo incident, Dermot Gallagher and Dean Ashton concur.
It gets increasingly difficult to defend Murillo for a brief, innocent moment of insanity the more views this one get.
The Brazilian defender looks to be a little awkward, but hopefully he can grow from this mishap. With the exception of this event, Murillo has been a standout for Forest this season. He did have an excellent outing against Fulham. After analyzing the situation, Dermot Gallagher of Ref Watch concluded earlier this morning on Sky Sports News that Murillo shouldn’t be held responsible for what he believed to be a clear decision.
