Rui Costa, Benfica’s sporting director, has commented following Odysseas Vlachodimos’ transfer to Nottingham Forest on deadline day.

The 29-year-old Greek international was purchased by the Reds for £7.7 million, giving Matt Turner, another recent addition, competition.
After five years in Portugal, Vlachodimos was given permission to quit the team after a disagreement with manager Roger Schmidt about his on-field performance.

A few days after leaving the team, Costa commented about the shot-stopper, stating that despite his departure, he still has the ‘utmost respect’ for the 29-year-old.
