According to The Sunday Mirror (17/3; page 64), Japhet Tanganga is still awaiting clarification on whether Tottenham Hotspur would trigger the one-year extension on his existing contract.
Tanganga, like Harry Winks and Joe Rodon, is now resuming his career after moving down to the Championship level.
The centre-back has been nearly flawless for Millwall since joining the South East London club on loan in January, and he appears to be improving with each game.
Last week, the defender’s agent, Roberto de Fenti, hinted at a probable summer move to Serie A for his client and stated that, while his contract with Tottenham expires in June, the North London club has the option to extend it by one year (CalcioNapoli24).
Tanganga is waiting to see if the Spurs want to keep him.
According to the Sunday Mirror, while Tanganga is free to discuss a pre-contract arrangement with non-English clubs, the defender cannot sign any contract until his parent club confirms the deal.
According to reports, the 24-year-old is unsure whether he would be permitted to leave Hotspur Way as a free agent this summer or if Spurs will extend his contract until 2025.

Even if Tanganga is not in Postecoglou’s plans, one would expect Tottenham to activate the centre-back’s one-year contract extension in order to secure a transfer price for him in the summer.
