Gianluca Di Marzio has stated that AC Milan and Tottenham are expecting to reach an agreement on a deal for Emerson Royal soon, with the transfer potentially taking place as early as today.

Emerson Royal is close to joining AC Milan.
Di Marzio adds that the gap between the two parties is closing, with the Premier League team and the Serie A club currently believed to be less than €1 million apart in their valuations of the defender.

He reveals that Milan is expected to complete the purchase within the ‘next few hours’.

The former Real Betis player is therefore anticipated to travel in Italy either today or tomorrow to complete the transfer.

Spurs agree to a €15 million deal with AC Milan
Fabrizio Romano has stated that Spurs and the Rossoneri would undertake their final round of discussions over Emerson today.

He claims that the right-back is close to joining Milan, with a €15 million plus add-ons agreement being agreed upon.

Romano stated that AC Milan and Tottenham will hold a final round of talks to complete the Emerson Royal trade tomorrow. Emerson is on the verge of joining Milan for €15 million with add-ons.

Our view

One would hope that once this sale is done and more space is freed up on their pay bill, Spurs will go forward with moves for their top targets, hoping to bring two or three quality players through the door within the next few weeks.

Tottenham have done well with outgoings this summer, but there has been a noticeable absence of senior, marquee incomings.
