Report: Club set for third attempt to sign Tottenham player this summer

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan will attempt to recruit Emerson Royal for the third time this summer, having failed to do so twice previously.

It has been widely speculated in recent weeks that Emerson will be one of the players released by Spurs this summer as the club looks to rebuild the squad for next season.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano claimed last week that the 25-year-old will be one of the first players to leave Hotspur Way this summer, possibly as early as June (giveMeSport).

It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Milan is interested in signing a right-back, and that the Tottenham player is on their wishlist.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and numerous Saudi Arabian clubs have been identified as prospective suitors for the Brazilian (Tom Barclay).

AC Milan has attempted to sign Emerson Royal twice.

According to CalcioMercato, Milan tried to sign Emerson twice before, in the summers of 2020 and 2021, with Tottenham beating them to the player in the latter.

According to the source, the Rossoneri are hopeful that this summer will be their third opportunity to sign the defender.

According to the newspaper, the Tottenham man earns €2.2 million (£1.8 million) each year, which the Serie A club could match, with the report adding that the Premier League side would ‘examine’ any bids for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

Milan appears to have been the first to act, putting them in prime position to sign Emerson. However, there is no doubt that the Brazilian would be of interest to a number of clubs, and Stefano Pioli’s side would undoubtedly face a stiff competition for his services.
