According to L’Equipe (via FourFourTwo), Harry Kane could quit Bayern Munich this summer following only one season with the Bundesliga giants.
Although Bayern are no longer in contention for the Bundesliga title, Kane is having a great first season at the Allianz Arena.
So far this season, the centre-forward has 39 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, with his most recent strike coming at the Emirates in the Champions League quarterfinal against Arsenal yesterday evening.
Daniel Levy said in a fan forum at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September that when Spurs sold Kane in the summer, they included a buy-back clause in the agreement.
However, multiple sources have now revealed that Tottenham would simply have the right to match any future proposal accepted by Bayern for the striker.
Kane might depart Bayern Munich this summer.
If L’Equipe’s recent report is to be trusted, Spurs may have the option to re-sign Kane sooner than expected.
According to the site, the England captain is one of five players that the German club could sign this summer, along with Aleksandar Pavlovic, Thomas Muller, and Manuel Neuer.
This is because the Bavarians supposedly want to restructure their squad after missing out on the title, which might mean offloading their senior players and building around a young core.
Kane appears to be on track to score more than 60 goals this season. It is ludicrous to think Bayern would want to get rid of the striker. Whoever replaces Thomas Tuchel will undoubtedly want the 30-year-old to be part of his plans.
