According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool has gone ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Lloyd Kelly.
Tottenham improved their backline by signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa last month, while allowing Eric Dier to join Bayern Munich.
It is stated that both the Reds and the Lilywhites are aware of the situation and are now eager to complete a deal for the Englishman.
Liverpool are in pole position to sign Lloyd Kelly.
However, it is reported that the North London club may be disappointed in their pursuit of Kelly, as Jurgen Klopp‘s side now hold the lead in the hunt for the 25-year-old.
According to the report, Liverpool has selected the Cherries player as their top target to replace Joel Matip, who will be out of contract at Anfield in June.
Interestingly, the report also mentions that the Merseyside club is interested in another Spurs centre-back target, Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.
It will be intriguing to see whether Postecoglou believes Ashley Phillips is ready for a first-team duty next season, or if the Australian decides to buy another centre-back and possibly loan the 18-year-old out to a Premier League club. Ange and Tottenham‘s recruitment staff would most likely wait until the end of the season to make their selection.
